Uhm... If he was born blind, or got blind at a young age, he never learned to read. You can not spontaneously read once you get your eyesight. Also, even if this thing really works, you can't suddenly see so clearly that you can read letters. Your eyes and your brain have to get used to the light and it's a process to learn to see, how to interpret what your eyes are seeing, etc. This can only be true is this man is at least 50 years old, and got a substantial seeing life before he got blind.

I am a legally blind (20/200) masters student pursuing my degree in clinical counseling. Is there any way i would be able to try Esight to see if it would help me? It is necessary for my career that i be able to see non-verbal cues of clients, which is very difficult for me right now.

I lost my vision in one eye from NAION. I am a visual artist and realized that I can see my artwork better through my camera phone than my bad eye alone. So I wondered why not use technology to make Star Trek next generation style glasses. I googled and found this. The video is three years old. Have you dropped the price? It shouldn't cost more than an expensive phone which is about $1000. Have you begun working on getting insurance to cover at least some of the cost? Maybe you can team up with Google and get this product out for less?
